IHSD GOVERNING COUNCIL PAYS COURTESY VISIT TO THE FEDERAL MINISTRY OF WOMEN AFFAIRS

The Institute for Humanitarian Studies and Social Development (IHSD) Governing Council on the 11th of February 2021, paid a courtesy visit to the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs to seek a symbiotic synergy between the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs and the Institute for Humanitarian Studies and Social Development.

The team which was received by the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Anthonia A. Ekpa and her team, had in attendance the Institute’s Acting Chairman, Amb. Adamu Babangida Ibrahim; the Registrar  of the Institute, Dr. Prince Francis Origa; Member of the Governing Council and Technical Adviser, Dr. Ngozi Ukeje and IHSD program Asst/ Protocol, Humanitarian Nene Perpetual Okogo.

Speaking during the meeting, Dr. Anthonia informed the team that the Ministry is geared towards strengthening capacities of Humanitarian Organizations/CSOs, women, children and the girl-child as part of its strategies of achieving goal-5 of the (SDG).

She also made an appeal for the women, children and the girl-child to be supported and protected from oppression and anti-humanitarian acts.

She went further to commend the Registrar of the Institute on his good track records with the United Nations and great impact in Humanitarianism.

On his part, Dr. Prince Francis Origa gave a brief on the history of the Institute and her success story, while emphasizing the need for collaboration between the Institute and the Ministry which was reiterated by the Acting Chairman, Amb. Adamu.
