ABIA STATE GOVERNOR APPOINTS IHSD REGISTRAR AS SPECIAL ADVISER ON HUMANITARIAN AFFAIRS, NGO MANAGEMENT AND SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT

The Governor of Abia State, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu has approved the appointment of the Registrar, Institute for Humanitarian Studies and Social Development (IHSD), Dr. Prince Francis Origa, as his Special Adviser (SA) on Humanitarian Affairs, NGO Management and Social Development.

The letter signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Barr. Chris Ezem, on behalf of the Executive Governor was released on Tuesday, 23rd February, 2021.

Reacting to his appointment as SA to the Abia State Governor on Humanitarian Affairs, NGO Management and Social Development, Dr. Francis expressed gratitude to the Governor for his magnanimity and confidence in him as one who has the requisite experience to assume such position.

According to him, the appointment is coming at such an auspicious time when the nation requires technical competence and expertise to drive sustainable social cum national development through holistic and strategic humanitarian interventions and response.

Through this position, he said, they will be able to redesign humanitarian narrative and architecture thereby, bringing political will and human face into the social-economic activities in Abia state that will in turn, affect the lives of Abia citizens positively and the nation at large.

Congratulating the Registrar on behalf of IHSD Governing Council, Barr. Boma Patricia Jack (FIHSD), described his appointment as well deserved honour while, thanking the Executive Governor of Abia State for his thoughtfulness and confidence in appointing Dr. Origa.

“We also thank the Executive Governor of Abia State, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu for his thoughtfulness and confidence on this exceptional Humanitarian icon and United Nations Scholar who has been making Nigeria proud through his Humanitarian Services”, she stated.
