AFRICAN UNION PLAYED HOST TO THE HUMANITARIAN TRAINING IN ABUJA WITH THE INSTITUTE FOR HUMANITARIAN STUDIES AND SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT.

The African Union Ecossoc Office, Nigeria, played host to the humanitarian training in Abuja as the Institute for Humanitarian Studies and Social Development (IHSD), conducted its 4 days professional proficiency certificate course in Humanitarian services and NGO Management, which held on the 26th July 2022 to the 29th of July 2022.

The Professional-Proficiency certificate course kicked off at the African Union Ecossoc Office, Maitama, Abuja with IHSD Registrar, Amb. Prince Francis Origa, PhD as the lead Facilitator.

Participants at this proficiency class were heads of ministries, agencies, NGOs and other staff members of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF), office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President of the Federation on SDGs, National Commision for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons, and other MDAs.

Our Professor in Humanitarianism, who is the Institute’s Registrar and who doubles as the Special Adviser to the Governor of Abia State on Humanitarian Affairs, NGO Management and Social Development in person of Amb. Prince Francis Origa PhD, took the class on Dynamics of Humanitarianism and Volunteerism, Essentials of NGO and Fundraising and Resource Mobilization for Organizations Sustainability.

The Class which ended on Friday, 29th July 2022 started on high spirit and the mood never went down. The training was loaded with insightful presentations, deepened research works, group and team works, individual assignment and experience sharing sessions as facilitators facilitated in grand style.

The training is powered by the Institute for Humanitarian Studies and Social Development (IHSD), in collaboration with United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR), as supported by AU Ecosocc Office, Nigeria.
