This class is designed to equip participants with knowledge on tailored-specialized thematic areas that would make them get certified as specialists in such areas as highlighted.
This would also help to identify people that can facilitate trainings for IHSD/UNITAR in such areas for different centers after undergoing train the trainers (ToT) program.
Such individuals may also choose to become consultants in those specialized areas which would be an added advantage when seeking jobs with international organizations.
The Class is meant for those who already have the Certificate of Proficiency in Humanitarian Services and NGO Management from IHSD or relevant training and work experience as may be determined by the selection committee.
Any individual may choose to run multiple specializations based on interest.
Where by a participant did not meet up with 60 marks in each component or did not participate actively in any of the activities, he or she would have to repeat that particular component or activity and pass same in order to be awarded a certificate as a specialist.
Participants would be expected to submit a project topic for approval at the end of the class, which will form part of the assessment work to be carried out during the period of internship, and to be submitted finally for grading prior to the expiration of internship.

IMPORTANT NOTE
This program is broken into four (4) Components and full participation in each component is essential: Lecture participation/class attendance. Course practical and assignments. Mini-Project writing. Internship/field work.Instruction:
Each component of this program carries 100 marks Candidates must score at least 60 marks and above to pass in each component;Where by a participant did not meet up with 60 marks in each component or did not participate actively in any of the activities, he or she would have to repeat that particular component or activity and pass same in order to be awarded a certificate as a specialist.

Five Credit Passes at not more than two sittings {or its equivalent} in SSCE / O’ level, GCE, NABTEB, TCII II, NECO. One of the credit passes shall be in English Language. Evidence of previous practical experience in Social work would be an advantage.
